Celtic Threads
Original work informed by Celtic knotwork, stone carving and Atlantic landscape.
Curator's statement
Celtic Threads is built on the single most compelling idea in its source tradition: the unbroken line. Knotwork logic — continuity without beginning or end — is rebuilt as original contemporary composition, set against the weathered greens and greys of Atlantic coast and carved stone. Continuity as both technique and subject.
Design philosophy
Unbroken-line logic rebuilt as original composition. Continuity as technique and subject alike.
Colour system
Moss green, weathered stone, peat brown, sea grey, oxidised copper, cream.
Shape language
Continuous interlacing lines, knotwork logic, carved-stone texture abstracted, spirals.
Composition
Every piece must be a genuinely original composition. No imitation of an identifiable artist's distinctive style, no reproduction of an existing artwork, and never derived from another DALFASTART artwork. Treat the source culture with respect: no stereotypes, no sacred or ceremonial objects used decoratively, and no use of closed cultural practices. Suitable for international audiences and clearly an original contemporary interpretation rather than a traditional artefact.
Ideal spaces
Homes, pubs and hospitality, heritage interiors, studies.
