Little Explorers
Gentle adventure — mountains, boats, balloons and small journeys into a big friendly world.
Curator's statement
Little Explorers is built on the idea that a child's world should feel large and kind at the same time. Its subjects are the beginnings of adventure — a small boat on calm water, a balloon over rolling hills, a path heading somewhere good. Shapes are simple and rounded, colour is warm rather than loud, and nothing in the frame is frightening. The work is designed to still look handsome to a parent years later, so a nursery can grow into a bedroom without redecorating.
