Curator's statement
Moroccan Pattern works from tile and architecture — interlocking geometry, the arch, the cool interior against desert heat. Pattern is used structurally rather than as surface decoration, and the palette runs from shaded blue to sun-baked clay. Original contemporary geometry made in respect of the craft tradition behind it.
Design philosophy
Geometry used structurally, not as surface decoration. Original interlocking pattern, never a copied tile design.
Colour system
Majorelle blue, terracotta, saffron, mint, bone, warm clay.
Shape language
Interlocking tile geometry, arches and keyholes, structural repetition.
Composition
Every piece must be a genuinely original composition. No imitation of an identifiable artist's distinctive style, no reproduction of an existing artwork, and never derived from another DALFASTART artwork. Treat the source culture with respect: no stereotypes, no sacred or ceremonial objects used decoratively, and no use of closed cultural practices. Suitable for international audiences and clearly an original contemporary interpretation rather than a traditional artefact.
