Muted Minimal
Near-monochrome restraint — the quietest work in the catalogue.
Curator's statement
Muted Minimal works in the narrowest range DALFASTART allows: two or three tones separated by a hair, one edge, and a great deal of nothing. It asks for good light and rewards it. The effect is less a picture on a wall than a change in the temperature of the room.
Design philosophy
Two or three closely-related tones, one considered edge, extreme reduction.
Colour system
Chalk, oat, pale grey, bone, faint clay.
Shape language
Single edges, soft tonal fields, barely-there divisions.
Composition
Every piece must be a genuinely original composition. No imitation of an identifiable artist's distinctive style, no reproduction of an existing artwork, and never derived from another DALFASTART artwork.
Ideal spaces
Bedrooms, quiet interiors, galleries, refined minimal spaces.
Print formats
1:1, 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, A-series.
Collection build-out: 3 published of a planned 120 artworks (2%).
