Silk Road
Original work informed by the trade routes where Eastern and Western visual traditions met.
Curator's statement
Silk Road is a collection about meeting points. Along those routes, pattern, pigment and geometry travelled and recombined — and that hybridity is the subject here. Compositions deliberately hold two visual logics at once, letting them meet the way they did in the caravan cities. Original work about exchange rather than any single tradition.
Design philosophy
Hybridity as subject — two visual logics meeting in one composition. Original throughout.
Colour system
Lapis, saffron, camel, pomegranate, bronze, dust white.
Shape language
Meeting geometries, caravan and route motifs abstracted, layered trade pattern.
Composition
Every piece must be a genuinely original composition. No imitation of an identifiable artist's distinctive style, no reproduction of an existing artwork, and never derived from another DALFASTART artwork. Treat the source culture with respect: no stereotypes, no sacred or ceremonial objects used decoratively, and no use of closed cultural practices. Suitable for international audiences and clearly an original contemporary interpretation rather than a traditional artefact.
Ideal spaces
Homes, hotels, restaurants, cultural venues, richly-layered interiors.
Print formats
1:1, 2:3, 3:4, panoramic.
